Referral and Evaluation: A doctor, parent or caregiver requests an evaluation where your child is evaluated to assess physical, motor, sensory and social emotional skills. This is to understand your child's strengths and challenges.
Goal Setting and Plan Creation: Based on the evaluation, a customized plan of care is created with the family, setting goals focused on real life skill building.
Individualized Therapy Sessions: Direct 1:1 sessions are provided in the home and community where movement, sensory-rich experiences, play and hands-on activities help clients build skills in ways that feel meaningful and motivating.
Caregiver Education and Collaboration: In-home programs and education provide strategies and guidance to families. This guidance ensures concrete support to the client and caregivers outside therapy sessions.
Progress Monitoring: Improvements are measured and tracked over time. Goals are adjusted as clients grow.
Discharge: When a client and family reaches their goals, a collaborative decision is made to pause or end therapy sessions. Success! This is a time to celebrate all of the hard work and growth. The client and family have learned how to use therapy strategies in their daily routines. Direct weekly support is no longer needed. You are always welcome to reach out if new challenges appear in the future.
Daily Living Skills: dressing, grooming, feeding, bathing, toilet learning, meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, managing finances, transportation
Regulation and Sensory Processing Skills: calming strategies and self control, strategies to navigate challenging sensory environments successfully, helping clients process environmental and bodily signals more comfortably and understand their unique sensory experiences in a manner that supports their ability to participate in what they want and need to do
Fine Motor Skills: handwriting, typing, use of scissors and other tools, buttoning, and daily tasks requiring use of one or both hands
Visual Motor Skills: helping children coordinate what they see with how their hands and bodies move
Gross Motor and Body Awareness Skills: how a child's movement patterns impact their ability to interact with their environment and complete daily activities
Cognitive and Executive Function Skills: attention, memory, problem solving, planning, organizational skills, inhibition and self awareness
Social Emotional Skills: building self advocacy skills and learning how to engage with others while respecting one's own authentic self
